TSX lower after index logs fresh record closing high
Investing.com -- Saipem has been awarded a $1.5 billion contract for the development of Phase 3 of the Sakarya gas field, located offshore Turkey.
The contract scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of eight rigid flowlines and a gas export pipeline approximately 183 kilometers long that will connect the offshore field to the Turkish coast. The offshore campaign for this project is expected to be conducted in 2027.
This is not Saipem’s first involvement with the Sakarya field, as the company has participated in previous development campaigns. Subsea7 also secured a contract for the project in recent weeks.
The new contract comes at a welcome time for Saipem , which has experienced a slower pace of new orders in 2025 compared to the exceptionally strong order intake recorded during 2023-2024. This agreement represents a positive addition to the company’s third-quarter order book.
