Stock market today: S&P 500 hits fresh record close on stronger economic growth
Investin.com -- Shares of SPIE fell more than 6% on Tuesday after the company announced it acquired Dutch firms Voets & Donkers Koeltechniek B.V. and VND Technical Services B.V.
Voets & Donkers, founded in 1963, employs 69 permanent staff across locations in Schijndel and Drachten.
The company specializes in cooling and air treatment systems and reported €30 million in turnover in 2024. Its client base includes sectors such as dairy and food processing, horticulture, pharmaceuticals, warehousing and high-tech machinery.
SPIE said the acquisition strengthens its expertise in industrial cooling installations, air treatment systems, heat pumps, industrial automation and process equipment engineering.
The company highlighted food and pharmaceuticals as areas of growth potential, particularly in refrigeration, freezing technology, industrial heat pumps and HVAC systems.
“This acquisition also enables us to increase our visibility in refrigeration, freezing technology, industrial heat pumps and HVAC,” said Joti Hakkert, director of SPIE’s Industry Services division in a statement.
“It opens up new opportunities to expand our capacity in line with the projects we already carry out in industrial HVAC. The acquisition fits perfectly within our strategic growth ambitions in the industrial market,” Hakkert added
Company founders Marc Voets and Peter Donkers welcomed the deal. “With SPIE’s scale and strength behind us, we are even better equipped to respond to developments in our industry,” Donkers said. “By working together with SPIE’s experts and colleagues from other divisions, we can take our services to the next level.”
