On Monday, Stellantis (BIT:STLAM) made an announcement stating that its Mirafiori facility in Turin, Italy, has chosen to participate in the 'grEEn-campus' initiative. This workplace transformation program is dedicated to enhancing automotive design, research and development, and central operations by embracing inventive, eco-friendly, and cooperative designs.

“With each new grEEn-campus, we are rethinking our iconic buildings to better respond to our new hybrid ways of working, as a significant number of our colleagues are taking advantage of flexible remote working, while also contributing to the Company’s carbon footprint reduction,” said Xavier Chéreau, Stellantis Chief Human Resources & Transformation Officer. “We want to offer our employees a completely reimagined experience in terms of time spent on site by encouraging intra- and inter-business exchanges conducive to co-development and collective intelligence, complementing the experience of working remotely. It’s an ambitious project, both for the Company and its employees, and one that will help us achieve our goals of reaching carbon neutrality and becoming a great place to work.”

Through the redesign of the historic buildings and various other initiatives, Stellantis is advancing towards its ambitious aim of becoming a carbon net-zero corporation by 2038, encompassing all scopes, and offsetting the remaining emissions by a single-digit percentage. Upon completion, the new office buildings are expected to generate more energy than they consume, making them energy positive. Moreover, the renovated and existing buildings strive to achieve carbon neutrality in their day-to-day operations.

Shares of STLA are up 1.45% in mid-day trading on Monday.
