Trinity Capital reports ’strong’ $519 million in new commitments for Q2

Investing.com -- Trinity Capital Inc (NASDAQ:TRIN) announced a portfolio update for the first half and second quarter of 2025, reporting $519 million in new commitments for Q2 and $705 million for the first half of the year.

In the second quarter, Trinity Capital funded approximately $365 million in investments, consisting of $296 million in secured loans, $68 million in equipment financings, and $1 million in warrant and equity investments.

"Our origination activity in the first half of 2025 reflects strong execution across our diversified private credit platform," Trinity Capital CEO Kyle Brown told Investing.com following the news. "We’re seeing sustained demand from growth-oriented companies and are well-positioned to meet their evolving capital needs while remaining anchored in our disciplined underwriting. It’s a model that delivers meaningful value for our shareholders."

The company provided funding to 14 new portfolio companies totaling $292 million and allocated $73 million to 14 existing portfolio companies during the quarter.

Trinity Capital received approximately $196 million from repayments and exits in Q2, including $111 million from early debt repayments, $51 million from scheduled debt payments, and $34 million from investments sold primarily to multi-sector holdings.

For the first half of 2025, Trinity Capital funded approximately $585 million in total investments, with $444 million in secured loans, $139 million in equipment financings, and $2 million in warrant and equity investments.

The company provided $387 million to 20 new portfolio companies and $198 million to 26 existing portfolio companies during the first six months of the year.

Proceeds from repayments and exits for the first half reached approximately $353 million, including $170 million from early debt repayments, $113 million from scheduled debt payments, $69 million from investments sold primarily to multi-sector holdings, and $1 million from warrant and equity exits.

Trinity Capital will release its complete second quarter 2025 financial results on Wednesday, August 6, and will discuss these results on a conference call at 12:00 p.m. ET the same day.
