AZTR receives NYSE delisting warning over equity requirement
Investing.com-- Turkish Airlines (IS:THYAO) said on Friday it will order up to 75 Boeing (NYSE:BA) B787 aircraft and was close to ordering 150 more planes, amid ongoing talks with engine maker CFM International.
The Turkish carrier confirmed 50 firm orders and 25 option orders for the B787 aircraft in a release to the Turkish stock exchange. The company said that negotiations with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace, regarding the procurement of engines, were also ongoing.
Turkish Airlines said it was negotiating with Boeing over the purchase of 150 737-8/10 MAX aircraft, which were subject to negotiations with CFM International.
The announcement comes just after Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met U.S. President Donald Trump.
The order also represents another win for Boeing, which earlier this week won an order from Uzbekistan Airways for up to 22 aircraft. A U.S. official said the company was also close to winning a major order from China.
