Microvast Holdings announces departure of chief financial officer
Investing.com-- Xiaomi Corp (HK:1810) said on Friday its electric vehicle deliveries crossed 30,000 units in July, setting a monthly record after the company launched the YU7, its second EV offering, during the month.
The company did not disclose exact delivery figures. The July figures compare to over 25,000 EVs delivered in June.
Stronger sales come after Xiaomi (OTC:XIACF) began deliveries of the YU7 SUV in early-July. The company had revealed the EV in late-June, and had received over 200,000 orders within minutes of the YU7’s launch.
Xiaomi’s first EV offering, the SU7, was largely successful in its first year since launch, despite intense competition among Chinese EV makers. The model was also briefly embroiled in a scandal over safety features and a performance component earlier this year.
Xiaomi’s YU7 model is aimed largely at competing with Tesla’s electric SUV, the Model Y.
Xiaomi’s shares rose 0.3% in Hong Kong trade, outpacing a 0.3% drop in the Hang Seng index.
