Investing.com — XL Fleet Corp (NYSE:XL) told investors Tuesday that it has completed the installation charging station deployments for Apex Clean Energy.
The deployment for Apex — a company that develops, constructs, and operates utility-scale wind and solar power facilities — includes 12 dual-port, level 2 chargers installed at six wind farm facilities across Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois.
The charging infrastructure has been added to power the 10 Ford F-series pickups equipped with XL Fleet plug-in hybrid electric drive systems, which Apex deployed earlier this year. The stations are also planned to equip the facilities for additional EV investments.
"Apex continues to invest heavily in our commitment to sustainability and driving the clean energy economy, and working with XL Fleet as our electrification partner has enabled us to move forward quickly on our EV strategy," said Mark Goodwin Apex's president and CEO.
Despite the news, XL Fleet shares have plunged 12.5% so far in Tuesday's session, adding to the 85% year-to-date decline.
