It invests in fixed income markets of the United States. The fund invests in investment grade municipal securities including general obligation, revenue and private activity bonds and notes with interest payments exempt from federal income taxes and which are issued by or on behalf of states, territories or possessions of the U.S. and the District of Columbia and their political subdivisions, agencies and instrumentalities, rated in one of the top four credit quality categories by at least one nationally recognized statistical rating organization. It seeks to invest in securities across varying maturities. The fund focuses on factors such as local, national and global economic conditions, market conditions, interest rate movements, the creditworthiness of the issuer of the security and the various features of the security such as its interest rate, yield, and maturity, any call features and value relative to other securities to create its portfolio.
