FlexShares Trust - FlexShares ESG & Climate Developed Markets ex-US Core Index Fund is an exchange traded fund launched by Northern Trust Corporation. It is managed by Northern Trust Investments, Incorporated. The fund invests in public equity markets of global ex-US region. The fund invests in stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. It invests in growth and value stocks of companies across diversified market capitalization. The fund invests in stocks of companies that are deemed socially conscious in their business dealings and directly promote environmental responsibility. The fund seeks to track the performance of the Northern Trust ESG & Climate Developed Markets ex US Core Index, by using representative sampling technique. The fund does not invest in stocks of companies operating across production of tobacco, manufacturing of controversial weapons, manufacturing of civilian firearms, manufacture, retailing, and distribution of small arms, assault and non-assault weapons or components, manufacturing of conventional weapons or providing support services through military contracting, thermal coal extraction, coal-fired energy generation, oil sands and shale, arctic oil with weak management of carbon within their products and services, the retail sale of tobacco and tobacco related products or services, and the running of private prisons sectors.
