It is co managed by BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, N.A. The fund invests in the public equity, fixed income, commodity and currency markets of the United States and Canada. It uses forwards, futures contracts, financial swaps and total return swaps. The fund invests in stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. For its fixed income investments, it invests in T-bills and short-term interest rate derivatives. The fund invests in commodities across energy, metals and agriculture sectors. It invests in G-10 currencies like the Australian Dollar, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krona and Swiss Franc. The fund seeks to track the performance of the Guggenheim Managed Futures Index. It was formerly known as Claymore Managed Futures ETF. iShares Managed Futures Index Fund was formed on June 3, 2010 and is domiciled in Canada.
