The fund is co-managed by MacKay Shields LLC. It invests in fixed income markets of the United States. The fund invests in insured municipal bonds issued by or on behalf of the District of Columbia, states, territories, commonwealths and possessions of the United States and their political subdivisions and agencies, authorities and instrumentalities. It invests in investment grade securities rated by at least one nationally recognized statistical rating organization, or (“NRSRO”) and with a dollar-weighted average duration of 3 to 15 years. The fund employs fundamental analysis with a bottom-up securities selection approach to create its portfolio. It seeks to fund benchmark the performance of its portfolio against the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index and the Bloomberg Municipal All Insured Bond Index. and the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index.
