Biography | Julianne is a senior portfolio manager and Newton’s head of sustainable equities. As an experienced investor, she has been integral in identifying resources to support and enhance the integration of sustainability considerations into the firm’s investment practices. Julianne manages a selection of global and regional equity mandates. She is the lead portfolio manager for the BNY Mellon Large Cap Securities Fund, leveraging the global research team to deliver capital growth by investing in high quality US companies with strong positions in their industries. Julianne has led the Emerging Markets Research Fund since its inception in February 2014. She also serves as a portfolio manager for Newton’s Global Research Equity and Global First Decade Innovators strategies. Julianne joined Newton in September 2021, following the integration of Mellon Investments Corporation’s equity and multi-asset capabilities into the Newton Investment Management Group. Before joining Newton, Julianne was a senior portfolio manager and senior research analyst at Mellon Investments Corporation and The Boston Company Asset Management (both BNY Mellon group companies). Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Julianne was an equity analyst at State Street Research & Management. Biography | Mr. Pope joined Brookfield Investment Management in 2014 as a Director of the natural resources investment team. He is responsible for implementing investment strategy with a focus in energy, including upstream, downstream, chemicals and services. Prior to that, he was a Senior Analyst and Managing Director at Dahlman Rose (and upon acquisition at Cowen & Company) covering Exploration and Production sector. Before that, Mr. Pope was an Analyst at JP Morgan Chase & Co, Research Division, where he covered the U.S. based exploration and production companies. While at JP Morgan, he was also responsible for a number of in-depth research studies, including those relating to specific domestic production regions and emerging gas recovery technologies. Mr. Pope began his career in 2001 as a Senior Project Engineer at ExxonMobil Production Co. Mr. Pope was the recipient of Institutional Investor's Rising Stars of E&P Research in 2011. Prior to Newton, she worked for Aetos Capital, a fund of hedge funds, and Joho Capital, where she covered Japanese consumer, retail, and internet stocks. She started her career at Morgan Stanley in mergers and acquisitions. Yuko has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is also a member of the Sustainability and Responsible Investment Committee at the Investment Association. Outside of work, Yuko enjoys spending time with her two sons and cooking. | ||

Biography | Jeff is a member of our equity opportunities team and specialises in managing a range of global equity strategies. Jeff has a BA, has completed an MBA, and is a CFA1 charterholder and a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP). Biography | John is an advocate for the role of public equity markets in driving societal change through a focus on investing in scalable solutions providers combined with active ownership and engagement to help drive positive change. John is an Impact Equities Portfolio Manager and Stewardship, Sustainability & Impact specialist. He joined Martin Currie in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager/Analyst and since 2020, his role has had an emphasis in supporting Martin Currie’s capability and leadership position in Stewardship & Sustainability of which the launch of the Improving Society strategy is the latest chapter. Prior to Martin Currie, John previously worked for Newton Investment Management as an investment analyst and portfolio manager in its Global Equity team, which included helping develop and implement its sustainable investment and enhanced ESG integration process for a new suite of sustainable funds. John has almost two decades of investment experience, beginning his career as an Investment Analyst at Alliance Trust in 2004 before moving as a Portfolio Manager to Aegon Asset Management where he managed US and Global equity mandates. He later moved to Newton Investment Management as an investment analyst and portfolio manager in its Global Equity team, which included helping develop and implement its sustainable investment and enhanced ESG integration process for a new suite of sustainable funds. John graduated with an MA (Hons) in International Relations from St Andrews University, having also spent a year at Queens University Ontario. He is a CFA charterholder and has also completed the CFA certificate in ESG investing and SASB Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA). | ||

From October 2005 until December 2010, he served as global co-head of long short equity strategies at AXA Rosenberg, where he was responsible for strategy and portfolio design, product development and marketing. |
