Investing.com -- Anthropic is enhancing Claude’s financial services capabilities with several new features, including an Excel add-in, additional market data connectors, and pre-built Agent Skills for financial analysis.

The company announced that these updates build upon Claude Sonnet 4.5’s performance on financial tasks, which achieved 55.3% accuracy on the Finance Agent benchmark from Vals AI.

The new Claude for Excel feature, currently in beta as a research preview, allows users to work with Claude directly within Microsoft Excel. The AI assistant can read, analyze, modify, and create Excel workbooks while providing transparency about its actions. The feature is initially available to 1,000 Max, Enterprise, and Teams users before a broader rollout.

Anthropic has also expanded Claude’s connectors to external platforms, adding several financial data sources. New connectors include Aiera for earnings call transcripts and Third Bridge insights, Chronograph for private equity portfolio monitoring, Egnyte for secure data searching, LSEG for live market data, Moody’s for credit ratings and company data, and MT Newswires for global financial news.

Additionally, Anthropic introduced six new Agent Skills specifically for finance tasks. These include comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow modeling, due diligence data packs, company teasers and profiles, earnings analyses, and initiating coverage reports.

The new skills are being rolled out in preview for Max, Enterprise, and Teams users. According to Anthropic, Claude is already widely used by leading banking, asset management, insurance, and financial technology companies for various front, middle, and back office tasks.
