TSX gains on big banks strength
PERTH - West Coast Silver Limited (ASX:WCE) has reported exceptional silver assay results from the first two holes of its inaugural diamond drill program at the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The 12-hole program, totaling 1,183 meters, has delivered significant high-grade silver mineralization near the surface.
The first drill hole, 25WCDD001, returned 21 meters at 1,047 g/t silver from 10 meters depth, including 8 meters at 2,632 g/t silver from 22 meters, with a peak value of 15,071 g/t silver over one meter from 27 meters depth. The second hole, 25WCDD002, intersected 15 meters at 723 g/t silver from just 1 meter below surface, including 3 meters at 2,639 g/t silver.
Gold was also detected in the assays, with a peak value of 2.03 g/t gold over one meter in hole 25WCDD002.
The Elizabeth Hill project, located on a mining lease with processing facilities nearby at Radio Hill, has a history of high-grade silver production. Between 1998 and 2000, the mine produced 1.2 million ounces of silver from just 16,830 tonnes of ore at a grade of 2,194 g/t silver.
"These initial outstanding results reinforce the potential at Elizabeth Hill to host some of Australia’s highest-grade silver mineralisation," said Robert Mosig, Technical Director.
The drilling program was designed to target oxidized, shallow silver mineralization north of the underground workings. Samples from the remaining ten holes have been sent for assay, with results expected over the next 6-8 weeks.
Alien Metals Limited (AIM:UFO) retains a 30% free-carried interest in the project through to a decision to mine. The information in this article is based on a company press release statement.
