  • Charles Hoskinson criticizes CoinDesk’s Most Influential list, claiming that the list signals an 18% imprisonment chance.
  • Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin has topped the list, appearing four times since 2014.
  • Sam Bankman-Fried, Changpeng Zhao, and Do Kwon, who have twice appeared on the list, were later sentenced to prison.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano blockchain, recently signaled an impending prison sentence for the influential figures included in CoinDesk’s “Most Influential” list. Ethereum. The media platform highlighted the repeated appearance of Vitalik Buterin in their most influential list, signaling his remarkable journey since 2014.

Reportedly, Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin has been included 4 times in the Most Influential List since 2014. Analyzing history, it is evident that he has outperformed others who have been included in the list so far. Other major figures who have appeared more than once include Balaji Srinivasan, Satoshi Nakamota, Andre Cronje, Andreas Antonopoulos, Brian Armstrong, Changpeng Zhao, Cynthia Lummis, Do Kwon, Gary Gensler, Gavin Andresen, Jack Dorsey, Jeremy Allaire, Jerome Powell, Pieter Wuille, Sam Bankman-Fried.

While the platform issued an open question to the crypto community regarding the probability of Buterin’s presence in 2023’s influential list, Hoskinson delivered a controversial comment. He cited a “Fast Fact”, citing, “Appearing on Coindesk’s most influential list carries an 18 percent chance of a prison sentence.”

Hoskinson’s comment came in light of the fact that some of the leading figures who were included in the list two or three times faced legal challenges and imprisonment. For instance, Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, who was visible two times on the list, recently faced a potential 10-year imprisonment following his guilty plea in the $4.3 billion settlement.

In addition, FTX’s fall and the subsequent arrest of its ex-CEO, Bankman-Fried, shook the entire economy in the bearish market. Hoskinson’s comments align with the fact that Bankman-Fried appeared twice in CoinDesk’s influential list. Another figure with two appearances in the list is the Terra Luna Founder Do Kwon, who was later alleged of market manipulation and illegal trading practices and consequently sentenced to prison.
