A broad gauge of Asian share markets rose to the highest in

18 months on Monday as Chinese equities gained, while oil

hovered near three-month highs on a combination of U.S.

crude inventory drawdowns, trade optimism and unrest in the

South Africa's rand rose to a new five-month high on Friday

as investors globally looked to take on risk, targetting

emerging markets for their higher yields. MARKETS

The Kenyan shilling KES= was firm on Friday and was

forecast to remain stable supported by dollar supply from

remittances amid slow market activity, traders

Ghana's government said it is determined to join a West

African currency that will replace the France-backed CFA

franc as soon as next year in eight regional countries, but

it urged members of the currency union to ditch a planned

of 57 in a Tanzanian conservation area, authorities

A Turkish military cargo plane landed in the Somali capital
