Oil prices on Monday extended their decline from an early
January peak above $70 as the spectre of excess supplies

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
The South African rand plunged to a three-month low against
the U.S. dollar on Friday as a strong greenback weighed down
emerging market currencies, while domestic power cuts and
weak economic growth added to the pressure. MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= was stable on Friday and was
forecast to trade in a narrow range amid subdued dollar
demand from merchandise importers, traders said. REPUBLIC OF CONGO MINING
Canadian miner Banro is looking to sell its Namoya gold mine
in eastern Congo at a significant discount, its chairman
told Reuters on Friday, blaming the government's failure to

Rwanda secured a $214 million loan from China's
Export-Import Bank (EximBank)to build a new 43.5 megawatts
hydropower plant that will help it reduce reliance on
