*UGANDA - The central bank announces its latest benchmark

rate decision.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian stock markets wobbled on Thursday while safe-havens

such as the yen, gold and bonds rose as the number of new

coronavirus cases and deaths in the outbreak's epicentre

WORLD OIL PRICES

Oil prices rose for a third day on expectations that major

producers are likely to enact deeper output cuts to offset

the slump in demand caused by the coronavirus outbreak in

China, the world's second-largest crude

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS

South Africa's rand fell against the dollar in late

afternoon trade on Wednesday, giving up gains from earlier

in the session, following a string of dismal economic

data. MARKETS

The Nigerian Stock Exchange plans to appoint a board and

pass resolutions next month to pave the way for its

conversion into a publicly listed company, it said on

The Kenyan shilling KES= weakened on Wednesday due to

dollar demand from merchandise importers and multinational

Zambia's economy will grow by more than 3% in 2020 from

around 2% last year, Finance Minister Bwalya Ng'andu said on

Wednesday, while the fiscal deficit is projected to drop to
