NAIROBI, March 19 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic
indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on

GLOBAL MARKETS
The dollar surged and everything else was blown away on
Thursday as emergency central bank measures in Europe, the
United States and Australia failed to halt a fresh wave of

WORLD OIL PRICES
Oil prices rose on Thursday but pared early gains as
investors tried to assess how effective massive stimulus by
central banks will be in shoring up the global economy as
the shock from the coronavirus pandemic deepens.

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand fell to a more than four-year low,
stocks plunged back to 2013 levels and bond yields spiked on
Wednesday as a wave of stimulus from governments around the
world failed to quell panic about the coronavirus pandemic.
KENYA MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= weakened on Wednesday as
uncertainty over the potential economic fallout from the
coronavirus pandemic continued to gnaw on the market's
nerves, traders said.
KENYA BANKS
Kenyan banks will allow personal borrowers who get into
difficulties because of the coronavirus crisis to extend
their loans for up to a year, the central bank governor said
on Wednesday.
NIGERIA FUEL
Nigeria will cut government-capped gasoline pump prices and
allow global oil prices to affect the cost of that fuel,
officials said on Wednesday.
NIGERIA STIMULUS
Nigeria's central bank will inject 1 trillion naira ($3.27
billion) into local manufacturing and import substitution to
stimulate the economy, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

UGANDA CURRENCY
Uganda's central bank sold dollars for a second straight day
on Wednesday to try to halt sharp losses by the local
currency as panicked commercial banks sought to stock up on
hard currency to steel themselves for the unfolding economic
