NAIROBI, May 19 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic
indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on
Tuesday.

GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares jumped on Tuesday and oil extended gains on
optimism the global economy would recover quickly following a
successful early-stage trial of a coronavirus vaccine, while
the euro hovered near a two-week top. MKTS/GLOB

WORLD OIL PRICES
Oil prices were mixed on Tuesday, with Brent pulling back
from an early gain on profit-taking, while U.S. crude
extended its rally amid signs that producers are cutting
output as promised just as demand picks up on a resumption of

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand strengthened on Monday as demand for
emerging-market currencies was boosted by further easing of
lockdown regulations globally, while a rally in metals prices
also helped commodity-linked currencies. CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS
Nigeria announced on Monday it would impose precisely
targeted lockdown measures in areas that report rapid
increases in cases of the coronavirus, while the phased
reopening of the economy as a whole would go ahead more
slowly than planned. MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= strengthened on Monday due to weak
dollar demand amid an increase in usable foreign currency
reserves at the central bank, traders said. PETROLEUM
Tullow Oil TLW.L said it had declared force majeure on its
main licences in Kenya, currently working under an early
production scheme ahead of a final investment decision, to
discuss virus restrictions and tax changes with the

Total TOTF.PA has called off a plan to acquire Occidental
Petroleum's OXY.N assets in Ghana, which was conditional on
the completion of the acquisition of Occidental's other
assets in Algeria, the French energy company said on
