Elon Musk has fired two senior Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) executives due to dissatisfaction with falling sales and the slow progress of previous layoffs, according to a report by The Information on Tuesday.
Rebecca Tinucci, the senior director in charge of Tesla's Supercharger network, and Daniel Ho, who leads the new vehicles program, were let go.
Furthermore, Musk is set to terminate all employees under Tinucci and Ho, which includes about 500 staff members in the Supercharger group. The exact number of Ho's team members is unknown.
The report also noted that Tesla's public policy team, formerly led by Rohan Patel, will be disbanded.
"Hopefully these actions are making it clear that we need to be absolutely hard core about headcount and cost reduction," Musk reportedly said in the email to senior managers.
"While some on exec staff are taking this seriously, most are not yet doing so."
Tesla shares fell 2% in premarket trading Tuesday.
