Investing.com -- Nissan Motor announced a strategic realignment of its global design operations as part of its Re:Nissan plan to create a future-ready organization.
The restructuring will establish five agile hubs that integrate technology into the design process, enabling faster decision-making and more responsive market adaptation.
"We are reshaping our operations into five agile hubs that harness new technologies and creative energy to deliver faster, smarter, and more connected design solutions, ensuring resilience and relevance in a rapidly evolving industry," said Alfonso Albaisa, corporate executive of Global Design at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
As part of the reorganization, Nissan Design America in San Diego and Nissan Design Latin America in São Paulo will close, with their design activities transitioning to other studios. Operations in London and Japan will be downsized. The company plans to complete the reorganization by the end of fiscal year 2025.
The five core design operations will include the Nissan Global Design Center in Atsugi, Japan, which will serve as the lead studio overseeing creative design work globally. Studio Six in Los Angeles will function as an advanced creative studio and become the primary U.S. design hub.
Nissan Design Europe in London will support markets across Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania while collaborating with regional partners including Renault. Nissan Design China in Shanghai will focus on the Chinese market, while The Creative Box Studio in Tokyo will specialize in brand and lifestyle design projects.
