Investing.com-- U.S. President Donald Trump and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon met twice in the last two months, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, signaling improving relations between the two after years of tension.
Dimon, the head of America’s biggest bank, met Trump at the White House last week to discuss the economy and financial regulation, the WSJ report said, citing people familiar with the matter. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also attended the meeting.
Dimon and Trump discussed a slew of topics, including trade deals, housing, and interest rates.
Before the recent meetings, Dimon and Trump had not held a substantive conversation in years, the WSJ report said, with the two having engaged in public insults of each other in recent years.
But the two were seen seeking to turn the page in recent months. Dimon had supported some of Trump’s trade tariffs, as well as his immigration policies at the Southern border.
Trump has said he respects Dimon’s views on the economy.
