As of March 22, 2013, Horizons Active Income Plus ETF has gone out of business. Horizons Active Income Plus ETF is an exchange traded fund launched by AlphaPro Management Inc. It is co-managed by Horizons Investment Management Inc and Barclays Capital Fund Solutions - Americas. The fund invests in fixed income and commodity markets. It invests directly, through derivatives and through exchange traded funds. For fixed income portion, it invests in 7 to 10 year U.S. Treasury Notes, U.S. TIPs of all maturities and money market securities. For the commodity portion, it invests in industrial metals asset including aluminium, copper, lead, nickel and zinc, energy including crude oil, brent crude oil, gasoline, heating oil, gasoil and natural gas, precious metals asset class gold and silver and agriculture asset class including wheat, red wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, sugar, coffee and cocoa. The fund uses fundamental analysis to create its portfolio. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Barclays Income Plus USD Index. The fund was formerly known as Horizons Income Plus ETF. Horizons Active Income Plus ETF was formed on November 26, 2009 and is domiciled in Canada.
