Biography | David is the Co-founder, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director at Longwave Capital Partners with portfolio management responsibilities for the Longwave Australian Smaller Companies Fund. Longwave Capital Partners was founded in 2018. Prior to founding Longwave, David was an Equity and Multi Asset Portfolio Manager for almost 15 years at Schroder Investment Management in Sydney. David developed, launched and managed the Schroders Australian small and microcap equity funds. During his management these funds were both top quartile performers with pre-fee excess returns to the benchmark of 13.5% pa (Microcap) and 14.5% pa (Small Cap). With over 8 years’ experience as a manager and analyst of active Australian equity portfolios, and 16 years developing investment decision making tools and equity trading systems, Jai has a strong belief in the benefits that come from leveraging technology. At Longwave, investors are empowered with the tools to seek alpha more effectively, and on a platform that guarantees discipline and consistency. It is also through this lens that Jai applies his experience to fundamental coverage of the technology sector. Until 2018 Jai was an Investment Analyst at Schroders, where he architected the asset class forecasting, portfolio construction and risk systems which underpin the Schroder Real Return Fund, enabling the launch of the Schroder Global Target Return Fund and of the first active multi asset ETF (GROW.ASX). Biography | Melinda is an Equity Portfolio Manager at Longwave Capital Partners. Bringing more than 20 years of buy-side investment experience across both domestic and global equities markets, Melinda’s previous roles have been with IFM Investors, Fidelity International, Ellerston, Schroders, Global Value Investors and Investors Mutual. Melinda most recently co-led analysis, research and portfolio management of IFM Investors’ Small Cap portfolios. Within IFM, Melinda sat on the ESG Champions Group, was a member of the IFM Proxy Voting & Engagement Committee; and engaged with company management and boards on various ESG initiatives, most recently advocating directly with Chairmen for greater gender diversity on ASX ex100 boards. She also represented IFM in the 30% Club Investor Working group. Prior to IFM, Melinda spent 8 years at Fidelity as a Senior Analyst covering large and small-cap resources, Building Materials & Chemicals and listed REITS.
