BTC Digital Ltd. (BTCT) announced it purchased $5 million worth of ethereum, bringing the blockchain technology company’s total ETH holdings to 2,135 tokens.
The Singapore-based company said the acquisition represents part of its ongoing ethereum strategic reserve strategy. The purchase follows what the company described as a $6 million financing round completed the previous week.
"Ethereum is more than just a digital asset—it represents the foundational infrastructure of the global digital economy," said CEO Siguang Peng in a statement. "Our 2,000+ ETH reserve is only the beginning. We remain unwavering in our commitment to this strategic direction."
The company stated it plans to continue acquiring ETH based on market conditions and corporate strategy. BTC Digital describes itself as a blockchain technology company focused on creating value across metaverse, blockchain and cryptocurrency mining sectors.
