Asian shares staged a rare rally on Friday as Wall Street
eked out gains, bonds rallied and oil boasted its biggest
bounce on record, though the panicked rush into U.S. dollars
suggested the crisis was far from done.

U.S crude oil prices edged higher on Friday, extending gains
after a 24% jump the previous day, buoyed by hints from U.S.
President Donald Trump he may intervene in the price war

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South Africa's rand fell on Thursday, with even the central
bank's biggest interest rate cut since the global financial
crisis unable to drag the currency back into positive
territory. KENYA MARKETS
The Kenyan shilling KES= weakened to 104.65/85 per dollar
on Thursday, its lowest level in nearly four and a half
years, mainly due to concerns about the potential drop of
hard currency inflows caused by the new coronavirus

Standard Chartered Bank of Kenya SCBK.NR reported higher
earnings and dividend for the full year on Thursday and its

NIGERIA EQUITIES
Nigerian stocks fell 2.94% on Thursday to their lowest level
in more than eight years as the number of coronavirus cases
in the West African nation rose.
NIGERIA CURRENCY
Nigerian currency dealers are refusing to show quotes to
sell the U.S. dollar after the central bank last week vowed
to crack down on speculators in a bid to stop the naira from
depreciating, traders said on Thursday.

Middle East and African airlines are in crisis with hundreds
