Investing.com -- Daimler (ETR:MBGn) Truck’s global vehicle sales fell 8% in the first quarter of 2025, as declines in North America and Europe outweighed growth in Asia and the bus segment, the company reported on Tuesday.
The group sold 99,812 vehicles between January and March, down from 108,911 in the same period last year.
Sales in Trucks North America dropped 16% year-over-year to 38,992 units. Mercedes-Benz (OTC:MBGAF) Trucks, which now includes operations in China and India following a segment restructuring effective January 1, saw sales fall 18% to 33,446 units.
By contrast, Trucks Asia recorded a 16% increase in sales, reaching 24,772 units, while Daimler Buses delivered 6,206 units, up 11% from the prior year.
Sales of battery-electric vehicles declined slightly, with 759 units sold in the quarter compared to 813 in Q1 2024—a 7% drop.
