Gold prices edge lower; heading for weekly losses ahead of U.S.-Russia talks
Investing.com -- Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) on Wednesday said that its passenger traffic across its group airports grew 4.6% in July 2025, outpacing the 1.6% increase at Frankfurt Airport, the company’s main hub.
The operator said its actively managed airports handled about 22.9 million passengers during the month.
Frankfurt Airport served 6.1 million travelers, with demand strongest for European leisure destinations in Greece, Italy and Spain. On long-haul routes, traffic to Thailand and East Africa recorded notable gains.
Cargo volumes at Frankfurt increased 3.7% year-over-year to 179,055 metric tons. Aircraft movements rose 5.3% to 42,657 takeoffs and landings, while total maximum takeoff weights grew 2.3% to about 2.6 million metric tons.
Among international locations, Slovenia’s Ljubljana Airport reported a 12.2% rise to 181,599 passengers.
In Brazil, Fortaleza and Porto Alegre airports saw combined traffic climb 96.9% to 1.3 million passengers, reflecting a low base in July 2024 when floods near Porto Alegre led to months of airport closure.
Peru’s Lima Airport handled about 2.3 million passengers, a 5.4% increase from a year earlier. Fraport’s 14 Greek airports served 6.6 million passengers, up 2.4%.
The Bulgarian airports of Burgas and Varna recorded 828,538 passengers, a 4% increase. Antalya Airport in Turkey reported traffic of about 5.6 million passengers, down 0.4% from July 2024.
