Investing.com -- Gauzy Ltd (NASDAQ:GAUZ), an innovator in light control technology, has announced a strategic collaboration with MABA Industrial to introduce its Smart-Vision advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to South Korea’s commercial vehicle market.

This marks the first time Gauzy’s AI-powered safety technology will be accessible to South Korean commercial vehicles, a market with annual sales exceeding 255,000 units.

The collaboration leverages MABA’s extensive mobility expertise and its relationships with leading South Korean OEMs, including Hyundai Motor (KS:005380) Company (OTC:HYMLF) and Kia Corporation.

Gauzy’s CEO, Eyal Peso, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential to expand the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and generate new revenue streams for its Safety Tech division.

Gauzy’s Smart-Vision system aligns with South Korea’s National Transport Safety Plan, which focuses on protecting vulnerable road users. The system uses cameras and monitors to replace traditional mirrors, enhancing visibility and reducing blind spots, a significant benefit for navigating dense urban areas.

Hyo Jeong Koo, CEO of MABA Industrial, highlighted the synergy between the two companies, emphasizing the importance of smart mirror technology like Smart-Vision® in future mobility solutions.

The system’s AI algorithms alert drivers to potential hazards, supporting South Korea’s road safety initiatives and sustainability goals by improving aerodynamics, reducing emissions, and cutting replacement costs.
