Procore signs multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with AWS
Investing.com-- Japanese hotelier turned crypto investment firm Metaplanet (TYO:3350) has further increased its Bitcoin holdings, acquiring an additional 103 of the cryptocurrency as part of its ongoing treasury strategy.
The company announced the purchase was made for 1.736 billion yen ($11.8 million) at an average price of approximately 16.86 million yen per Bitcoin.
This latest acquisition brings Metaplanet’s total bitcoin stash to 18,991 coins. The aggregate amount spent on buying Bitcoin has now reached 285.83 billion yen.
The company has been aggressively accumulating bitcoin since formally establishing Bitcoin Treasury Operations as an official business line in December 2024.
Metaplanet uses a unique metric, "BTC Yield," to measure the performance of its bitcoin acquisition strategy in relation to shareholder dilution.
Bitcoin has hit a series of record highs this year, as the world’s biggest crypto benefited from increasing regulatory favor and growing institutional adoption.
