Two National Guard members shot near White House
Investing.com-- The South Korean government on Thursday launched a working group with several of the country’s largest companies to establish artificial intelligence infrastructure using chips from Nvidia, the Yonhap news agency reported.
The group included Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KS:005930), Hyundai Motor (KS:005380), SK Telecom Co Ltd (KS:017670) and several major South Korean firms, and will aim to build AI infrastructure with 260,000 graphical processing units from NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA).
The group held its inaugural meeting this week, the report said.
The Yonhap report comes a month after Nvidia said it will deploy up to 260,000 GPUs in South Korea as part of a government deal. The deployment, if successful, stands to make South Korea one of the largest AI processing hubs outside the United States.
