Flutter Entertainment beats Q3 earnings estimate despite sports results impact
Investing.com -- Wizz Air Holdings PLC (LON:WIZZ) has reached an agreement with Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) to reschedule its current order book, pushing back the delivery of 88 aircraft originally due by fiscal year 2030 to fiscal year 2033.
The budget airline announced Friday that while its total orderbook of 273 aircraft remains intact, the revised agreement aligns with a more sustainable and profitable capacity growth trajectory.
As part of the changes, Wizz Air has reduced its commitment for A321XLRs from 47 to 11 aircraft, including the 5 units already delivered. The remaining 36 A321XLRs will be converted to A321neos.
The amendments support Wizz Air’s target of achieving 10-12% seat capacity growth through 2030. The carrier plans to operate an all-neo fleet by calendar year 2029, which the company says will reinforce its position as one of the world’s most emissions-efficient airlines.
The neo aircraft are expected to deliver significant fuel-burn advantages compared to previous generation planes.
Wizz Air currently operates a fleet of 249 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft and served 63.4 million passengers in fiscal year 2025. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker LSE:WIZZ.
