East West Insurance Company Limited engages in the general insurance business in Pakistan. It operates through five segments: Fire and Property Damage; Marine, Aviation, and Transport; Motor; Engineering; and Miscellaneous. The company offers fire and property insurance services for loss or damage due to fire and/or lightning of residential/commercial properties; motor insurance caused by theft/snatching, fire, accidental damages, and damage of third party liabilities; and marine, aviation and transport, including import, export, and transit insurance services, as well as vessels, cargo, terminals, and other transport. It also provides bonds insurance products, such as bid, performance, advance payment, retention money, maintenance, custom, and transportation bonds; engineering insurance comprising erection all risk, contractors all risks, machinery breakdown, and electronic equipment insurance services; and miscellaneous insurance products, consisting of money in transit, neon sign, fidelity, plate glass, personal accident, and workmen’s compensation insurance services, as well as hospitalization. In addition, the company offers health and travel and crop and livestock insurance products. East West Insurance Company Limited was incorporated in 1983 and is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan.
