The fund is co-managed by Energy Income Partners, LLC. It invests in public equity markets of the United States. The fund invests directly and through derivatives in stocks of companies operating across energy sectors. It uses derivatives such as options to create its portfolio. It invests in growth and value stocks of companies across diversified market capitalization. The fund seeks to benchmark the performance of its portfolio against the S&P Global 1200 Energy Index, PHLX Utility Sector Index, the Alerian MLP Total Return Index, the S&P 500 Index and the blended index comprising of 50% the PHLX Utility Sector Index and 50% the Alerian MLP Total Return Index.
