Oil prices cooled on Wednesday as Saudi Arabia said full oil

production would be restored by month's end while caution

ahead of an expected U.S. interest rate cut kept wider

WORLD OIL PRICES

Oil prices slipped on Wednesday, extending losses from the

previous session after Saudi Arabia's energy minister said

the kingdom will restore lost oil production by the end of

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS

South Africa's rand extended its losses on Tuesday to a

one-week low as heightened tensions in the Middle East after

the weekend attack on Saudi Arabia's crude oil facilities

soured risk demand globally. CENTRAL BANK

Nigeria's central bank has rescheduled its monetary policy

committee meeting, it said in a statement on

Nigeria's frenetic commercial capital, Lagos, is plunged

into darkness several times a day. Then its generators roar,

Annual inflation in Nigeria stood at 11.02% in August, its

lowest in almost four years, down from 11.08% in July, the

National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday. MARKETS

The Kenyan shilling KES= was under pressure on Tuesday,

fuelled by an excess of local currency liquidity and surging

demand for hard currency from goods importers. AIRWAYS RESTRUCTURING

renationalised in order to ensure future success, its

chairman said on Tuesday.

ETHIOPIA AIRPLANE/BOEING

A lawyer for victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 said

on Tuesday he wants Boeing Co BA.N and the U.S. Federal

Aviation Administration to hand over documents about the

decision to keep the Boeing 737 MAX in the air after a

deadly Lion Air crash last October. MARKETS

The Ugandan shilling UGX= was stable on Tuesday due to

sluggish demand for dollars from importers and

lenders. ELECTRICITY

Uganda's electricity generation capacity is set to jump by

55.5% in December when a Chinese-financed hydropower plant

and other, smaller projects are commissioned, the east

African country's energy minister said. ELECTRICITY

Zambia is in talks with South African power utility Eskom to

import 300 megawatts (MW) of electricity, Energy Minister

Mathew Nkhuwa said on Tuesday, adding that retail prices

could double once imports begin. COAST COCOA

Ivory Coast's cocoa harvest could be longer and more

abundant than last year's after weeks of rains and sunshine,

farmers said on Monday. ENVIRONMENT

French-owned beverage company STAR said on Tuesday it has

requested an independent audit of its supply chain in

Madagascar following media reports linking maize production
