It provides hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel strips, pickled steel strips, hot-dip galvanized steel strips, thick plates, electrical steel, etc. that are used in automobiles, home appliances, electricity, shipbuilding, construction, engineering machinery, petroleum, mining machinery, machinery parts manufacturing, and other industries; and steel pipes and tubes that are used in oil casing, drill pipes, perforating gun tubes, boiler tubes, marine tubes, pipeline tubes, grid structure tubes, hydraulic support tubes, fluid transport pipes, gas cylinder pipes and axles, etc. The company also offers steel sheet piles, angle steel, and other materials that are used in industrial and civil buildings, cross-sea bridges, underground pipe galleries, dams and sea enclosures, railway poles, railway vehicle beam steel, and other industries; rails; hot-rolled ribbed steel bars, high-carbon hard wires, cold heading steels, welding wires and electrode steel, round steel for sucker rods, etc.; and rare earth steel and concentrates. In addition, it provides fluorite concentrate; asphalt, anthracene oil, washing oil, coking naphthalene, light oil, phenol oil, crude phenol, ammonium sulfate and coking crude sulfur, etc.; and light benzene, sulfur, and ammonium sulfate, as well as engages in coke waste heat power generation. The company was founded in 1954 and is based in Baotou, China. Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union Co., Ltd. operates as a subsidiary of Baotou Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd.
