Metair Investments Limited, together with its subsidiaries, manufactures, supplies, and distributes motor vehicle components and energy storage solutions in South Africa, Romania, and the United Kingdom. It operates in two segments, Energy Storage and Automotive Components. The company offers energy storage products, including automotive and industrial batteries, solar systems, back-up systems, standby systems, charging systems, battery distribution networks, batteries, and solar batteries for original equipment manufacturers and the automotive aftermarket. Its energy storage products are used by the telecoms, utilities, mining, retail, and materials and product handling industries. The company also provides automotive components, such as heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, climate control systems, plastic injection moldings and brake pads, air cleaners, radiators, wiper and washer systems, compressors, engine control units, air conditioning pipes and hoses, cooling modules, radiator fan shrouds and condensers, charge air coolers, reserve tanks, brake discs and shoes, hydraulics and other braking components; and front-end modules, shock absorbers, and struts. In addition, it offers automotive parts, including coil and leaf springs, stabilizer and torsion bars, headlights, taillights, reflectors, plastic bins and storage, crates, chrome plating, body color painting and assemblies, automotive wires, PVC insulated copper, wiring harnesses and cables, instrument clusters and combination meters, and molded parts. The company also exports its products to Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Metair Investments Limited was incorporated in 1948 and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
