Its soda ash products are used in various industries, such as soaps and detergents, glass, silicates, dyes and dyestuffs, bichromate, textiles, and other products comprising house cleaning and petroleum refining agents; ammonium chloride fertilizer in growing various crops, including paddy, sugarcane, groundnut, banana, coconut, cotton, chilies, mulberry, etc.; sodium bicarbonate in manufacturing biscuits, pharmaceuticals, fire extinguishers etc.; and technical and pure grades ammonium chloride use in batteries, pharmaceuticals, and galvanizing applications. Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited was incorporated in 1971 and is based in Chennai, India.
