The company operates through four segments: Onshore, Offshore Jackup, Offshore Island, and Oilfield Services. It provides onshore drilling and workover rigs, equipment, and related services; and rigs, equipment, and island rig services, as well as transportation, catering, diesel supply, camp construction, and accommodation services. The company also offers hiring out of onshore and offshore drilling rigs to parties involved in oil and gas exploration and production; and oil field services, including directional drilling, surface logging services (SLS), wireline services, cased hole logging, and pressure pumping, as well as drilling and completion fluids. The company was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. ADNOC Drilling Company P.J.S.C. is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
