Marel hf. was formerly known as Marel Food Systems hf and changed its name to Marel hf. in January 2010. The company was founded in 1983 and is based in Garðabær, Iceland. As of January 2, 2025, Marel hf. operates as a subsidiary of JBT Marel Corporation.
