Traxys Africa Holdings trades in ferrous and non-ferrous metals and minerals, carbon, plastic raw materials, rubber, and chemical products in South Africa and internationally. It operates in two segments, Trading Activities and Investment Activities. The Trading Activities segment trades in ferroalloys, including ferromanganese, silico manganese, ferrochrome, and stainless steel alloys; non-ferrous metals comprising aluminum, copper, lead, tin, zinc, and titanium; ores, such as manganese ores, iron ores, and chrome ores; chemicals and food additives; and plastics consisting of PP, HDPE, PVC, PET, calcium carbonate fillers, and masterbatches. This segment also trades in carbons, including anthracite, char, coal, charcoal, and metallurgical coke; and minor metals consisting of tantalum, tungsten, magnesium, cobalt, and vanadium. The Investment Activities segment invests in equity; and provides project loan funding in mining and logistics projects in order to secure product off-take and logistics infrastructure. The company was formerly known as Metmar Limited and changed its name to Traxys Africa Holdings in October 2015. Traxys Africa Holdings was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Bryanston, South Africa.
