The Government segment provides cybersecurity services, cybersecurity training, and other information technology professional services; operates high-speed satellite communications teleports connected to the public switched telephone network that offers transport services for Internet protocol-based voice, video, and messaging data using VSAT satellite technology for government customers; and purchases and resells satellite airtime. It also offers ground terminal systems that provide voice, video, and data communications through ruggedized modules that can be deployed in harsh and remote areas for satellite-based or point-to-point communications; and designs, produces, and sells communication system components, as well as electronic components and solid state drives for aerospace applications. This segment serves the U.S. departments of defense, homeland security, the general services administration, and international space agencies and their agents. The company sells its products and services through direct sales force and indirect channels. TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland.
