Luminex Plc provides services in the fields of electrical, electronics, telecommunication, civil and mechanical engineering contractors, consultants and technical advisers in Sri Lanka. It engages in the planning, design, and development of underground and overhead optical fiber cable networks; design and development of FTTx networks; new customer connections with voice, broadband and IPTV features; optical fiber network maintenance; and supply and installation of telecommunication equipment. It is also involved in providing electrical services, such as industrial and commercial wiring for large factories and high-rise buildings; installation of transformers and switchgear systems; laying of power distribution cables; design and building of turnkey projects for medium and large-scale electrical installations and power distribution systems; installation of lightning protection systems; and building automation and control systems. In addition, it offers water and sewerage services that include the construction of ferro-cement tanks, ground reservoirs, elevated tanks, sludge drying beds, pump houses, intakes; laying of HDPE, DI, and uPVC pipes in water and sewerage transmission and distribution networks; supply and installation of M and E equipment for water supply and sewerage projects; construction and commissioning of water and sewerage treatment of package plants; and rehabilitation and improvement in water treatment plants. Further, it provides building construction, re-construction, renovation, and bridge construction services. It manufactures, assembles, maintains, repairs, services and sells wholesale and retail, electrical, electronic and telecommunication equipment and telecommunication outside plant construction. It imports, exports, distributes and sells both wholesale and retail, hires, rents and leases electrical, and electronics. The company was incorporated in 1986 and is based in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
